The Code of Recommended Practice for Local Authorities on Data Transparency

(Pursuant to Section 2 of the Local Government, Planning & Land Act 1980)

The Local Government Transparency Code came into effect in October 2014, this is a code of recommended practice on data transparency and applies to Parish and Town Councils with a gross income or expenditure in excess of £200,000. The Government wants to increase transparency through publication of open data enabling tax payers to see how local authorities use public money. Paulton Parish Council provides the majority of this information already on the website or the information can be found below:

Expenditure Over £500 

The Parish Council will provide an approved schedule of payments after each meeting of the Parish Council. A council is obliged to publish any expenditure over £500, including supplier and transaction information.
